WCHA Weekend Roundup-Huskies Swept by No. 1 Miami

St. Cloud State had the most daunting task to begin regular season play as it traveled to Ohio for a pair of games against the number one ranked team Miami, Ohio. Friday night almost led to an upset but the Miami Redhawks won 3-2 in overtime. Oliver Lauridsen, a sophomore from Denmark, got his first career goal in Friday's loss. The second period proved to be a pivotal one as Miami outshot the Huskies 11-5 and scored both of its regulation goals.

In game two Saturday night freshman Mike Lee got his first career start for SCSU and shut down the RedHawks through two periods stopping all 16 shots and keeping the game a scoreless tie. However, Miami would pour on the pressure in the third period and get two goals past Lee on 11 more shots. The game-winner came off the stick of Fridley native Jarod Palmer. St. Cloud State registered 20 shots while being shut out 2-0 Saturday.
